Eurofins Megalab and lastminute.com have signed a Europe-wide agreement to provide travellers with SARS-coV-2 (COVID-19) diagnostic tests both in their countries of origin and at their destination. Timely and precise diagnostic tests are still an essential tool to prevent and control the propagation of COVID-19, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO). Eurofins Megalab, a leading clinical analysis company, strengthens its commitment to this testing in order to detect asymptomatic cases and to halt the spread of the virus (recently Eurofins Megalab introduced in Spain a test that identifies in just a few hours the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2).

At the same time, Eurofins Megalab has set up COVID laboratories in record time at 12 Spanish airports (Barcelona, Bilbao, Valencia, Alicante, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Tenerife Sur, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and La Palma) and it plans on opening two more at the Santiago de Compostela and Tenerife Norte airports. Since they opened, these laboratories have performed over 150,000 COVID tests and they now have capacity to test over 12,000 travellers a day.

The Eurofins Megalab network of centres not only covers the main international airports and travel hubs, but they are also situated in a wide variety of locations such as supermarkets, shopping centres and residential areas, which improves proximity for customers and ease in testing.

The agreement between lastminute.com and Eurofins Megalab will help tourists organise their trips, providing them with all types of COVID testing, in a simple and reliable manner, with high-quality and very competitive pricing; always in compliance with local regulation requirements.
